OVERCOMING FEAR AND CONQUERING GIANTS


**How do we conquer/defeat the giants in our lives?**

I. DETERMINE to FOLLOW GOD WHOLEHEARTEDLY

3x in Joshua 14 Caleb followed the LORD His God wholeheartedly

Proverbs 3:5-6 Amplified Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the LORD with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, acknowledge, and recognize Him and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.

Will we trust that our God is bigger?
Will we trust that His ways are better?
Will we trust that His methods are greater?
Or will we trust in our own strength and understanding?

II. DARE to be DIFFERENT

Joshua 14:7-8 I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh Barnea to explore the land. And I brought him back a report according to my convictions, but my brothers who went up with me made the hearts of the people melt with fear. I, however, followed the LORD my God wholeheartedly.

We MUST take a stand for God’s principles
We MUST gain strength from God’s power
We MUST live to fulfill God’s purpose…

Romans 12:1-2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.

III. DEMONSTRATE GREAT COURAGE AND PASSION

Joshua 14:10-12 “Now then, just as the LORD promised, he has kept me alive for forty-five years since the time he said this to Moses, while Israel moved about in the desert. So here I am today, eighty-five years old! I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I’m just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then. Now give me this hill country that the LORD promised me that day. You yourself heard that the Anakites were there and there cities were large and fortified, but, the LORD helping me, I will drive them out just as he said.”

If you and I are going to conquer the giants in our lives, we must recognize that we can do it ONLY with the LORD’s help.

Numbers 13:30 Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said,
“We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”

Psalm 27:1-2 The LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?

How do we overcome fear and conquer giants:
We let go of ourselves and latch onto God

We TAP into His Power
We TRUST in His Provision
We TAKE Hold of His Promises

ALL of this boils down to one question:
HOW BIG IS YOUR GOD???
