How Do We Develop an Attitude of Gratitude?
Luke 17:11-19

A) Christ is recognized as both Healer & Master!

Luke 17:11-14: Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, "Jesus, Master, have pity on us!” When he saw them, he said, "Go, show yourselves to the priests." And as they went, they were cleansed.

B) Reaction to God’s Blessings!

Luke 17:15-16: One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus' feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.

He was recognized by a Samaritan!

Luke 17:17-18 Jesus asked, "Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Was no one found to return and give praise to God except this foreigner?"

C) Our Response to God’s Blessing!

1) We can put it down to luck or good fortune
2) We can give the praise to something else
3) We can praise ourselves
4) We can give thanks to God and not be changed
5) We can thank God and change our attitude

We have been separated from God like these lepers and yet through him, we can be reconciled.
Christ shows how much he loves this man’s thankfulness by reassuring him that he is now complete in every aspect of his life.

Luke 17:19 Then he said to him, "Rise and go; your faith has made you whole."
