The Daily Christian Life!
R U Connected Part 3

1) The Nature of the Race!
A) Spiritual Endurance Race (World, Flesh, Devil)

2) How do we endure/persevere for long haul?
A) I have to: Deal with the ISSUES in my life!

B) Replace ISSUES with a fixation on Christ!

3) Encouragers in the Race!
A) We look BACK, at the faithful!
B) We look UP, to Jesus!
C) We look AROUND, at each other!
Galatians 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Hebrews 12:1-3 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us do these things!
V2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
V3 Consider (Ponder/ think about what it was like) for him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.

4) Obstacles along life’s way!
A. External Obstacles…
1. -Potholes: Temptation!
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.

2. -Bats: Fear!
Isaiah 12:2a Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid.

-Most Fear is taught! So is Faith…
Romans 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.

3. –Porcupines: People who needle me!

4. –Skunks: People who cause a stink!

“Rest if you must but never quit!

Conclusion: Revalation 20:11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. v12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books. v13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. v14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. v15 If anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

1. Am I saved?
2. Am I growing in my commitments?
