FALL KICKOFF
September 9, 2007

1) Where we’ve been!
-Each life has victories & defeats; same with church!

Philippians 3:13b… one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, V14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

2) Where we are today!
-Tonight: Soup Supper; Hayride; Bonfire service; Testimonies & Speaker!

3) Where we want to go!
-Theme for upcoming year: “R U Connected”

3. Participate in a small group!
4. Daily devotional!

Revalation 7:9-10 After this I looked and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands. V10 And they cried out in a loud voice: "Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb."

1) What will last forever?
A) God!
B) People!

2) Our Longing is for Relationships!
A) V9… there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and in front of the Lamb.
B) John 4:14 but whoever drinks the water I give him will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.
C) Psalm 42:1 As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, O God.

3) We lack habits!
A) Deuteronomy 6:6-9 These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. v7 Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. v8 Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. v9 Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.

B) Habit for connection to God: Personal Devotions!
C) Habit for connection to family: Family Devotions!
D) Habit for connection to others: Church & Small Group!
